Overview

Plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the organization's information technology systems. With a primary focus on maintaining a secure, efficient, and reliable IT environment, the IT Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, and support of various hardware, software, and network components.
-This is a 3 months fixed-term contract-

Responsibilities

System Administration

  • Administer and maintain servers, workstations, and related infrastructure components.
  • Implement and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.

Network Management

  • Configure and maintain networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure data security.
  • Implement and manage network protocols and services.

Security and Compliance

  • Implement and enforce security policies to safeguard the organization's IT assets.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Technical Support

  • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to resolve complex technical issues.

Backup and Disaster Recovery

  • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans.
  • Regularly test backup systems and procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.

Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, network, configurations, procedures and develop and update IT policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Academic Education & Professional Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT administration and support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security, and system administration.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to evolving technologies.

Operational & Managerial Experience

  • Proficiency in administering Windows Server, Linux, or other server operating systems.
  • Proven experience in routing and switching configurations and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure management and configuration (Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

Technical Skills

  • Level 3 Service Management Framework qualification and knowledge of life-cycle and/or capability elements of ITIL.
  • Hands-on experience of leading and managing customer focused Ticketing Solution.
  • Good knowledge of IT Service Management best practices and standards.

Language Skills

  • Fluency in English

  • Flexibility to Travel: GCC - MENA
